DRAINING  She hoists her smile like a flag,  swabs it in sunshine  as it       quivers like a mouse     dimmed by snake shadow.   The pegs which pin her mask dig deep,      bore her skull to a sieve;     the dirty water rushes through   and soon  she will be   washed   away.
How we endeavour to present an acceptable image to the outside world, regardless of inner truth...
